Bice's Network in Asia

For more than 10 years, Bice has been working with its members and partners in Cambodia, India, Nepal, Thailand and the Philippines, to promote the dignity and the rights of the child, focusing on the sexual abuse and exploitation of children.

The Bice Delegation for Asia acts as a platform for exchange and reflection between its members and partners. It coordinates small-scale workshops, conducts capitalisations, issues publications and develops training programmes, all of which focus on positive approaches that have been identified as important for the prevention of and recovery from sexual abuse and exploitation.

Using the channels developed through working together in effective partnerships and networks, Bice Asia, in collaboration with Bice's permanent representation in Geneva, works to establish regional alliances and joint strategies to lobby for political commitments and changes in the region.

Within the framework of the UNCRC, Bice Asia supports a child-centred approach that recognises both the rights and the needs of children, and gives them a voice in his or her own future development and that of their communities. Resilience, the capacity for children, adults and communities to draw upon inner resources to react in creative ways to difficult situations, is seen as a critical component in addressing children rights.
